Sonakshi Sinha reveals discrimination against women in the industry

Sonakshi Sinha is always known for her outspoken statements. Recently, during a roundtable session, she spoke about the pressure and discrimination faced by women in the industry. During this, without taking anyone's name, she lashed out at an actor who had refused to work with her saying that she “looked older” than him.

“Thankful I didn't work with him”

Sonakshi told, “An actor, who was older than me, had refused to work with me. He said that I look older than him. Frankly, I'm glad I didn't work with that person. I'm thankful it never happened. I don't want to work with such people anyway.”

More pressure on women, exemption for men

Sonakshi spoke openly on the unequal treatment between men and women in the industry. He said, “It is clear that the pressure that women face is not that of men. They are neither made to feel ashamed of their age nor are questions raised about their looks.”

He also added, “Men can romance actresses 30 years younger than them. Even if their stomach is out or their hair has fallen out, no one says anything to them. But women have to face pressure to look perfect all the time.”

Women have to pave the way

Regarding the struggle of women, Sonakshi said, “This always happens with women only. They have to make a path for themselves by fighting these challenges every time. But I am happy that I was able to keep myself above all these things.”

Sonakshi's outspoken style

This statement of Sonakshi not only exposes the bitter truth within the industry, but also shows that she does not tolerate any discrimination. His courageous attitude is being highly praised on social media.
