Justice Arvind Kumar and P.B. Varale’s bench said the judge would watch the video on Thursday and asked the registrar to arrange the screening. “The judges will watch the video on Thursday. First, we will watch it separately and then both the judges will watch it together,” he said. Additional Solicitor General K.M. Nataraj, representing the Central and Union Territory of Ladakh administration, said that Solicitor General Tushar Mehta was ill and had requested to adjourn the hearing. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Angmo, argued that repeated adjournments were sending “the wrong message” to the country.

The bench said it was listing the matter for final hearing next Tuesday (March 17) and clarified that whatever the outcome, the court would reserve its judgment on that day. Justice Kumar said, “We make it absolutely clear that whatever happens, we will reserve our decision next Tuesday after the final hearing. We will not allow any new points to be argued and the Solicitor General can only argue the new points raised by Sibal in his counter-argument.”

Earlier, Mehta sought clarification on the issue raised by the bench regarding the translation of Wangchuk’s speeches. On February 26, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of Angmo’s petition till after the Holi holidays. The hearing of this case was adjourned several times earlier due to non-availability of counsel for various parties. Nataraj said Wangchuk was responsible for the violence in Leh on September 24 last year, in which four people were killed and 161 injured. The Center and the Ladakh administration had told the Supreme Court that Wangchuk was detained for inciting people in the border areas.
