An exciting match was played on the tenth day of the 23rd Sonanchal Cup state level cricket competition held at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Obra. In this match between Banaras Poly Hospital Sonbhadra XI and Bhadohi, Sonbhadra’s team defeated Bhadohi by 5 wickets on the basis of its excellent performance. At the beginning of the match, Bhadohi won the toss and decided to bat first. However, in front of the determined attack of Sonbhadra bowlers, Bhadohi’s team could score only 116 runs after losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Anurag Gupta contributed the maximum 27 runs (25 balls, 2 fours, 1 six).
Yash Singh added a quick 19 runs. Sonbhadra’s bowling was lethal and Akash Singh took 3 wickets for just 13 runs in 4 overs. Shivank Singh also broke the back of Bhadohi by taking 3 wickets. Chasing the target of 117 runs, the team of Banaras Poly Hospital Sonbhadra XI made an aggressive start. Akash Singh’s bat rained runs all around the ground. He made the match one-sided by playing a quick inning of 68 runs (8 fours, 4 sixes) in just 33 balls. Arpit Giri remained unbeaten after scoring 16 runs. Sonbhadra achieved the target of victory by losing 5 wickets in just 13.5 overs. Shadab bowled well for Bhadohi and took 3 wickets, but he could not save the team from defeat.

The chief guest of the tenth day was Uttar Pradesh Ex-Serviceman Chief Obra Omprakash Tiwari and the special guest was Supervisor Rambriksh Yadav. He got introduced to the players and praised this grand event being held at Gandhi Maidan. State General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Electricity Employees Union, Pradeep Kumar Kanojia awarded Man of the Match award to Akash Singh for his excellent all-round performance. Roshan Singh and Pradeep Sharma played the role of umpire during the match. Live scoring was handled by Himanshu Kushwaha and Akshay Patel, while commentary was done by Sankat Mochan Jha and Raju Yadav.
