Sonbhadra Police’s strong attack on women’s safety, wanted accused of molestation arrested

As part of the special campaign against women related crimes and criminals, Sonbhadra Police, taking prompt action, has succeeded in arresting an accused who was absconding in a molestation case. As per the instructions of Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma, the arrest of criminals has been intensified in the district. Under Anpara police station area, written information was given by a victim that accused Vikas alias Vicky had committed an incident of indecency and molestation of a woman.

Taking cognizance of this serious complaint, Anpara Police had registered case crime number 26/2026 under relevant sections 64(1) and 351(2) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) with immediate effect. The accused was absconding since the incident and the police was busy searching for him. The team formed under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Anil Kumar and Area Officer Pipri Harsh Pandey got an important success on the morning of Friday, 13 February 2026. On the accurate information of the informer, Anpara police station laid siege near Dibulganj Tiraha at around 09:56 am and caught the accused.

The arrested accused has been identified as Vikas alias Vicky (29 years), son of Bhola Ram, resident of village Kundadohi (Lohra Tola), police station Anpara. After the arrest, the police completed all the necessary legal formalities and the accused was produced before the Honorable Court, from where he has been sent to jail.
