Woman kept under digital arrest for 48 hours, defrauded of Rs 2.9 lakh

In Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, a woman was digitally arrested by cyber criminals for 48 hours and defrauded of Rs 2.9 lakh. On the complaint of the woman, the police have registered an FIR in the matter. Giving information on Tuesday, the officials said that investigation is being done in the matter.

According to a news agency, Additional SP Kalu Singh said that Srishti Mishra, a resident of Sonbhadra, informed the police on October 18 that she had received a call from an unknown number on October 9. He was asked to press 9 on the keypad, after which his call was transferred. Then he was told that a person had been arrested for committing a fraud of Rs 38 lakh using his phone number.
