Sonia Gandhi’s health improving, discharged from hospital after a week
New Delhi. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Sunday. He was admitted to this hospital in Delhi about a week ago due to exacerbation of ‘bronchial asthma’ due to chest infection. Hospital officials gave this information. Hospital officials said that Gandhi has responded well to the treatment and is recovering rapidly.
“The senior Congress leader was discharged from the hospital at 5 pm today and has now been advised to continue her treatment at her residence,” a senior hospital official said. The official further said that Gandhi was admitted to the hospital under the care of chest specialist Dr Arup Basu on the evening of January 5 due to “worsening of bronchial asthma due to chest infection”. She turned 79 last December.
