New Delhi: There has been a wave of mourning in the entire music world due to the demise of Asha Bhosle. Famous singer Sonu Nigam, who worked with him, is also very sad. Paying tribute to Asha ji, he has shared some special and memorable pictures on Instagram.
One scene in these pictures is especially attracting people’s attention. Sonu Nigam is seen washing Asha Bhosle’s feet with water. In the second picture he is touching Asha ji’s feet on the stage. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is also seen present in these pictures, who was watching the entire program.
What did Sonu write?
Sonu Nigam wrote in the post, “Today the curtain fell on one of the greatest singers of Indian film music. The last remaining warrior of the pioneering era retired today. She faced many ups and downs and difficulties throughout her life and that is what made her so great.”
Sonu further said, “From the time I met Asha ji for the first time in 1994 and sang with her, till our last concert in December 2024 and till the last two duets sung last year… I will always remember this entire journey with pride and happiness.”

Asha Bhosle passes away
Asha Bhosle died on 12 April 2026 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. He was taken to the hospital after cardiac arrest on the night of 11 April. His mortal remains are being brought home, where people can have their last glimpse. Asha Bhosle’s last rites will be performed with state honors tomorrow i.e. on 13th April at 4 pm at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

Sonu Nigam also remembered Asha Bhosle for her passion for practicing all her life. He said that Asha ji touched the hearts of crores of people with her singing and cheerfulness for many decades. There is a big void in the music world due to his death.
