Amit Shah’s ‘Dinner Diplomacy’ and Kashmir’s connection

The first major movement is related to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Recently he hosted a special dinner for retired Intelligence Bureau (IB) director Tapan Deka. Surprisingly, Amit Shah himself praised Decca by sharing pictures on social media. Usually, the departure of heads of intelligence agencies is not made so public. There is talk that Tapan Deka may soon get a big post, possibly Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir. If Deka goes there, then the return of current LG Manoj Sinha to Delhi is considered certain and he may get a big place in the Union Cabinet.

‘Sudden action’ in Bhupendra Yadav’s ministry

The second incident is related to the Environment Ministry. In the ministry of powerful strategist Bhupendra Yadav, four of his key personal aides (Aides) were suddenly removed. Bhupendra Yadav has a huge stature in the organization, hence this kind of administrative reshuffle in his ministry surprised everyone. Opposition leader Jairam Ramesh has also leveled allegations of scam, terming it a ‘failure of governance’. Whether this is a routine change or a major political upheaval, only time will tell, but it has heated up the market of speculation.

How much change is expected before the monsoon session?

The monsoon session of Parliament is starting from 20th July. According to experts, there is little possibility of cabinet expansion just before the session because the new ministers will not get time to prepare. However, nothing is impossible in politics. Even in July 2021, just before the session, PM Modi surprised everyone by making a major reshuffle. If the change does not happen now, then it is fully expected by the end of August or September, because PM Modi is known to take decisions irrespective of religious beliefs.
