Sound of world war! America-Israel attack on Iran’s nuclear center ‘Natanz’, Iran retaliates in response
Tehran/Washington. The ongoing conflict in West Asia now seems to be getting out of control and taking the shape of a global war. On Saturday morning, Iran’s Tasnim news agency made a sensational claim that US and Israeli forces have launched a major attack on Iran’s strategically important ‘Natanz Uranium Enrichment Centre’. In response to this attack, Iran has also adopted an aggressive stance and fired medium-range ballistic missiles at the US and Britain’s joint military base ‘Diego Garcia’ located in the Indian Ocean.
Attack on Natanz nuclear center: What radioactive leak has spread?
According to Iranian government agencies, a team of experts has immediately started investigation after this attack targeting the Natanz nuclear facility. It is a matter of relief that initial technical investigation has not confirmed any kind of radioactive leakage. “There is currently no threat to local residents living near the facility,” the agency said in a statement. However, Iran has termed this action as a gross violation of international nuclear safety and security rules.
Iran’s counterattack in the Indian Ocean: Diego Garcia on target
To avenge this attack, Iran has attacked beyond its borders. According to a US official, Iran fired two medium-range ballistic missiles targeting America’s most important military base ‘Diego Garcia’ located in the Indian Ocean. This military base is about 3,810 kilometers (2,370 mi) from the coast of Iran. Although, according to the report, these missiles did not fall directly on the base, but this move has created a stir in Washington.
Challenge to America’s home of ‘heavy bombers’
How strategically important Diego Garcia is for America can be gauged from the fact that a fleet of American heavy bombers is stationed here. Iran’s semi-government agency ‘Mehr’ confirmed the attack, calling it an “action against the military base of the oppressors.” Defense experts believe that challenging American interests beyond the borders of Western Asia is a major and risky change in Iran’s military strategy.
Tension increased at global level, stir in diplomatic corridors
The attack on the nuclear center and the use of ballistic missiles in response has worried global powers. There is a possibility of a strong reaction on this from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United Nations. Experts say that if this tension does not subside, it could have a devastating impact on oil prices and the global supply chain in the coming days.
