Sourav Ganguly achieved big achievement, inducted into ICC Hall of Fame, Anjum Chopra and Kevin Pietersen also got honour.
Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly and former Indian women’s cricket captain Anjum Chopra have been officially inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced this on Saturday, July 11. ICC welcomed both the Indian greats into this prestigious list by sharing a post on social media platform X. This honor is given to those players who have made outstanding contribution to cricket for a long time.
Sourav Ganguly represented the Indian team from 1992 to 2008. In his 16-year international career, he played 113 Tests and 311 ODI matches. Ganguly scored 7,212 runs in Test cricket and 11,363 runs in ODI. He also contributed in bowling and took 32 wickets in Tests and 100 wickets in ODIs. As captain, he gave a new direction to Indian cricket and took the team to the final of the 2003 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Anjum Chopra’s amazing cricket journey
Indian women’s cricket legend Anjum Chopra also got a place in the ICC Hall of Fame for her outstanding contribution. Playing for India from 1995 to 2012, he played 12 Tests, 127 ODIs and 18 T20 Internationals. Anjum scored 548 runs in Test, 2,856 runs in ODI and 241 runs in T20. He also contributed with the ball and took two wickets in Tests and four wickets in ODIs.
Kevin Pietersen also honored
Former England captain and legendary batsman Kevin Pietersen was also inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. Born in South Africa, Pietersen played for England from 2004 to 2014. He participated in 104 Test, 136 ODI and 37 T20 matches. He has 8,181 runs in Test, 4,440 runs in ODI and 1,176 runs in T20. Pietersen played an important role in the 2005 Ashes win and the 2010 T20 World Cup win.
