How much security will we get now?

About 8 to 10 policemen were deployed under Z category for Ganguly’s security. In Y category this number will reduce to about three policemen. Claim of low threat level

According to the state security unit, in the latest review it was found that Ganguly does not currently pose such a big security threat that it requires Z category. However, they will continue to get VIP security cover (VIP Cordon) and necessary security arrangements will continue.

Officials say that this decision is not limited to Sourav Ganguly only. A comprehensive review of VIP security protocols is being conducted in the state. Its purpose is to give priority to available security resources to those constitutional functionaries, officials and individuals who are genuinely at greater risk.
