Attack on Hindu faith in the district adjoining Bangladesh, Maa Kali statue broken in South 24 Parganas; Police said- there was less damage

west bengal An incident came to light in South 24 Parganas district on Sunday, which created immense anger and concern in the local Hindu society. In fact, the head of the idol of Maa Kali was broken in Raidnagar village of Harinarayanpur Gram Panchayat of Jaynagar assembly constituency, after which an uproar broke out.

Local people called it a direct attack on Hindu faith. Where in this case the police said that the statue was not completely damaged. After this, BJP has accused the police of suppressing this matter.

Police installed new statue

The local administration immediately removed the damaged statue and installed a new one in its place. Despite this, no accused has been identified or arrested so far. The police tried to make light of the matter and claimed that there was only minor damage to the statue.

Officials say that some people are deliberately trying to spread false news. Police said in the statement that the investigation into the case is ongoing and every possible step is being taken to arrest the culprits. He also appealed to the public not to pay heed to rumors and warned that strict action would be taken against those spreading inflammatory and false information.

BJP’s opposition

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed strong protest against the police action. The party alleges that the administration tried to suppress the real incident by silently installing the new statue. BJP leaders say that this move spread deep anger among the local Hindu community and protests started. Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari alleged that the police lathi-charged and beat the protesting people. He raised the question that when the Home Minister of the state is Mamata Banerjee, why is the police busy suppressing the case instead of catching the criminals. The officer called it the result of vote bank politics and appeasement policy.

Impact and appeal on Hindu society

Suvendu Adhikari appealed to the Hindu community to unite against the government in a democratic manner, so that the continuous attacks on religious faith can be stopped. He warned that if the present government with its appeasement policy is not replaced in time, the Hindu society may have to face even more serious and harmful consequences in the future.
