South Korea’s Incheon no longer world’s best airport for staff service
Japan’s Narita International Airport has surpassed South Korea’s Incheon International Airport to reclaim its position as the world’s best airport for staff service as part of the World Airport Awards, according to London-based aviation consultancy Skytrax.
This is the third time the airport in Chiba Prefecture has won the top award in the category, following 2019 and 2024.
Incheon Airport, which topped the list last year, slipped to fourth place, ranking behind Japan’s Narita and Centrair Nagoya airports, as well as Singapore’s Changi Airport.

To compile the 2026 rankings, Skytrax conducted a survey assessing passengers’ experiences across multiple factors, including quality of staff service (attitude, friendliness, efficiency) delivered across front-line positions at an airport. It includes staff working for customer help/information counters, immigration and security staff, and all customer facing staff at shops, food and beverage outlets.
Located around 60 kilometers from Japan’s capital Tokyo, Narita Airport is known for its high-quality service, diverse shopping, and for having the longest runway in Japan.
It is also praised by passengers for its polite, efficient, and helpful staff.
