South Korean actress Kim Tae Hee sells luxury home to ‘Cleaning King’, nets $6M gain
South Korean actress Kim Tae Hee has earned an estimated capital gain of 8.54 billion won (US$6 million) from selling a luxury residence in Seoul for 12.77 billion won.

According to The Korea Timesciting real estate industry sources and registry records from the Supreme Court of Korea on Tuesday, Kim sold a 233-square-meter apartment at the prestigious Hannam The Hill complex in November last year.
She had purchased the unit entirely in cash in August 2018 for 4.23 billion won.
The buyer is reportedly Koo Ja Kwan, chief executive of facility management firm Samkoo I&C, widely known in South Korea by the nickname “Cleaning King.”
Completed in 2011 on the former Dankook University site in Seoul’s Yongsan District, Hannam The Hill is considered one of South Korea’s most exclusive residential complexes.
The gated development comprises 32 buildings with about 600 households and has attracted numerous high-profile residents from the entertainment and business sectors. Notable residents have included RM and Jimin of BTS, actor So Ji Sub, and LG Group chairman Koo Kwang Mo.
Kim, 46, and her husband, 44-year-old singer-songwriter Rain, were named the richest Korean celebrities in real estate holdings in 2020, according to the South China Morning Post. The couple reportedly owned property assets worth 81.4 billion won at the time.
Kim made her acting debut in 2001 and is best known for her roles in television series such as “Stairway to Heaven,” “Love Story in Harvard,” “Iris,” “Yong-pal” and “Hi Bye, Mama!”
She married Rain in 2017, and the couple has two daughters.
