Mil Toast House VN, a popular bakery brand originating from South Korea, has permanently closed from Jan. 22 after over one year of operation.
“After more than a year of operation in Vietnam, Mil Toast House has strived to bring high-quality, meticulously crafted toasts, maintaining the brand spirit from Korea to Vietnamese customers. However, Mil Toast House also recognizes the current difficulties and has not yet found suitable solutions to continue operating,” it wrote on its Facebook page.
The bakery brand, known for its signature fluffy, steamed brioche and soufflé toasts, has expanded its presence in some Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Malaysia.
It opened its first store on Cao Thang Street in Ho Chi Minh City last year.
On social media, some netizens expressed dissappointment about the closure.
“The shop’s announcement of closure surprised me a little. Recently, many businesses in Ho Chi Minh City have announced closures; I think this is truly a fierce competition in the F&B industry,” a netizen wrote.
