The cast and crew of South Korean television drama “My Royal Nemesis” will come to Vietnam’s largest island Phu Quoc next month for a summer vacation, rewarding the team for the series’ commercial success.

The group is scheduled to depart South Korea on July 7 and spend four days and three nights on the island, South Korean media outlet My Daily reported.

Lead actors Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Joon are expected to join the trip.

According to Netflix, the drama series aired from May 8 has attracted 4.1 million views and secured a place in the platform’s Global Top 10 for non-English TV shows.

The drama also topped the latest rankings compiled by the Korean Business Research Institute, which analyzed more than 66 million pieces of data from the past month. It achieved a brand reputation index of over 10 million points, ranking first among 21 television series surveyed.

The choice of Phu Quoc comes as the island continues to gain momentum as an international tourism destination.

In the first five months of the year, it welcomed 4.76 million visitors, up 34% from a year earlier and already surpassing half of its annual target, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Phu Quoc aims to attract 8.5 million visitors this year, including 2 million international arrivals.

The island has strengthened connectivity with South Korea through the recent launch of a direct air route linking Phu Quoc and Seoul.
