Kanpur. SP MLA Amitabh Bajpai has ended his Satyagraha in support of the NEET exam paper leak, demand for transparency in the exam system and the students agitating at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. A 24-hour Satyagraha was proposed at the Gandhi statue at Phulbagh, but due to the police not allowing the program and barricading, the Satyagraha could not be held at the Gandhi statue.
After this, Amitabh Bajpayee along with his colleagues conducted a 24-hour Satyagraha at his residence and raised the voice of students’ rights and justice. After the completion of the Satyagraha, a memorandum addressed to His Excellency the President was handed over to ADCP Archana Singh. The SP MLA demanded through a memorandum that a fair, transparent and timely investigation of the NEET paper leak issue should be conducted and strict action should be taken against all the culprits and the examination system should be made safe and transparent. An impartial investigation should be conducted into the alleged lathi charge and use of force on the agitating students at Jantar Mantar and action should be taken against the guilty officials.
Appropriate financial compensation and government assistance should be given to the families of students who committed suicide due to NEET paper leak and the resulting mental stress. Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan should resign from his post taking moral responsibility.
