SP MP’s controversial comment on PM Modi creates political turmoil…

A political controversy erupted on Monday over Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi’s remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While talking to reporters during the party’s protest, Lodhi had termed the Prime Minister’s appeal to cut expenses as anti-national. After the video of the protest went viral on social media, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hit back and termed Lodhi’s remarks as a violation of decorum. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly condemned the SP MP’s statement on Monday on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal.

SP’s performance and MP’s sharp comment
SP workers had reached Mahoba District Magistrate’s office to submit an 11-point memorandum addressed to the Governor on issues like power cuts, smart meters and inflation. The demonstration was led by Lodhi and SP District President Shobha Lal Yadav. In the video related to this, Lodhi can be seen allegedly using objectionable language against the Prime Minister. In the video, Lodhi is seen commenting on the Prime Minister’s foreign trips while raising questions on his appeal to cut expenses. He seems to be saying that such a Prime Minister has neither existed before nor will exist in the future. After submitting the memorandum, Lodhi warned that the government would have to face consequences if the demands were not accepted.

CM Yogi’s counterattack: ‘Attack on democratic dignity’
Hitting back at the SP MP’s comment, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted on ‘X’ and said that the unparliamentary comment made by an MP towards the world’s most popular public leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is not only indecent and unforgivable, but is also a serious attack on Indian democratic dignity. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this act of the SP MP reveals political bad culture, ideological bankruptcy and disrespect for the decency of public life. The Chief Minister called it an insult to the mandate, trust of 145 crore countrymen and also to the democratic dignity of India. He said that the people of the country will definitely answer for such indecent conduct when the time comes. BJP leaders reacted strongly to Lodhi’s remarks.

BJP revealed the ‘real face of SP’
Former state spokesperson of the party Shalabh Mani Tripathi, while sharing the video, said that listen to the language and thoughts used for the Prime Minister who works day and night for the country. This is actually the real face of Samajwadi Party’s anarchy. He said that this is a violation of decorum and such petty politics should not happen.
