Special attention is being given to animals in Chhatbir Zoo by Forest and Wildlife Conservation Department.

Chandigarh: The department, led by Punjab Forest and Wildlife Conservation Minister Lal Chand Kattaruchak, is paying special attention to the nutritional needs of the animals at Chhatbir Zoo keeping in mind the winter season.

Honey and sugarcane being given to the bear

In this regard, each bear is being given 100 grams of honey as well as 1 kilogram of sugarcane daily during winter. Apart from this, rock salt is also being ensured for all herbivorous animals to lick.

Apart from this, during winters each deer is being given 100 grams of jaggery daily and each monkey is being given 20 grams of jaggery daily and 100 grams of sugarcane is also being fed daily.

Not only this, every elephant is being given 100 kg of sugarcane daily during the winter season and flax seeds and nutritional supplements are also being ensured for small birds.
