Special Bikes for Pune Police Force from Bajaj Auto! Introducing the customized Dominar Kelly

Bajaj Auto has introduced a custom-modified Bajaj Dominar 400 motorcycle for the police force in the Indian market. Recently, the company has handed over 100 such special Dominar 400 bikes to the Pune Police Force, and these bikes will be used for patrolling in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune Rural and Suburbs. Modern technology, advanced safety features and quick response system will make this motorcycle more useful for police work.

The Bajaj Dominar 400, customized for the police, includes several special features. These bikes are equipped with LED emergency lights, siren, public address (PA) system, push-to-talk radio transmission, GPS tracking system and emergency first aid kit. This will facilitate quick response to crime incidents, crowd control, traffic management and assistance to citizens in emergency situations. Apart from this, charging points have also been provided for essential electronic devices like mobile phones, walkie-talkies.

The event of handover of these special bikes was held at the Pune Police Ground in Shivajinagar, Pune. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Choubey, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Gill along with Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar, Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and Sports Commissioner Sheetal Teli were present on this occasion.

These custom-modified Dominar 400 bikes will also be part of the official fleet of the Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026. The grand tour, which will be held between January 19 and 23, will cover a distance of 437 km, covering 9 taluks and around 150 villages. As this route will pass through various geographical areas such as urban and rural, the efficiency and durability of these bikes will be seen in reality.

The base model of the Bajaj Dominar 400 is manufactured at Bajaj’s manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The customized version for the police comes with lockable side panniers and a top box, which can hold first aid kits, forensic tools, documents and other essential equipment. Talking about the engine, the bike is powered by a 373.3cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine. It retains modern features like dual-channel ABS, traction control and electronic suspension adjustment.

According to Bajaj Auto, these specially customized motorcycles will be of great help to the Pune Police in providing quick and effective emergency response to various urban and rural areas of the city. In view of the growing population, widening scope and changing nature of crime, such high-capacity and sophisticated bikes are expected to be useful for the police force.
