Special event will be organized in Shiva temples of the district on the occasion of Somnath Swabhiman festival.

Giving information, District Tourism Officer Rajesh Bharti said that on May 11, 2026, ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’ will be organized on a grand scale in the major Shiva temples of the district. On this occasion, worship and religious programs with Vedic chanting will be organized in the temples. Besides, a special cleanliness campaign will also be conducted in the temple premises and surrounding areas.

He said that necessary guidelines have been issued by the state government in this regard. To conduct the event in a successful and organized manner, responsibilities of officers at the development block, tehsil and district level have been fixed. The concerned officers have been instructed to ensure arrangements in their respective areas.

Special care will be taken for the convenience, safety and cleanliness of the devotees during the program. A religious and cultural environment will be created in various temples of the district with the participation of local citizens and devotees. The district administration has instructed all the concerned departments to coordinate and make the event a success.
