Special HPV vaccination week from 13th to 18th July…

New Delhi:- With the aim of protecting women and adolescent girls from serious diseases like cervical cancer, a special HPV vaccination week is being organized in Chhattisgarh from July 13 to July 18, 2026. For this, extensive preparations have been made by the districts in all the community health centers and vaccination centers of primary health centers. During this special campaign, activities will be conducted on a large scale to ensure access to HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccine to all eligible girls of the state.

Necessary preparations have been completed in all the districts for successful conduct of the campaign. Public awareness activities are being conducted in schools, Anganwadi centres, health institutions and community level. People are being made aware of the importance of HPV vaccination through newspapers, pamphlets, social media and other information, education and communication mediums.

Deputy Director and State Immunization Officer, Dr. V.R. Bhagat said, “HPV vaccination is an effective and safe way to prevent cervical cancer in women and is the only vaccine that provides protection from deadly diseases like cancer. It is not just a vaccine, but an investment in the healthy, safe and strong future of our daughters.

The special HPV Vaccination Week aims to ensure that no eligible girl child is deprived of this important protective cover.

Dr. Bhagat said that the health department teams are working with full commitment in all the districts of the state. We are confident that with the cooperation of health workers, teachers, Anganwadi workers, public representatives and parents, we will achieve the target of 100 percent coverage.

Appealing to the parents, Dr. Bhagat said that they must get their eligible daughters vaccinated with HPV vaccine and spread positive messages regarding it in the society. He said that with timely vaccination, it is possible to prevent serious health problems in the future.

The campaign will be continuously monitored and reviewed by the Health and Family Welfare Department and instructions have been given to all the districts to ensure maximum coverage. The department has expressed confidence that with public participation and collective efforts, this campaign will prove to be an important achievement in the direction of women’s health protection.
