Special puja in Prayagraj for Team India’s victory in the semi-finals, fans played Holi with pictures of players

Prayagraj: The teams of India and England will face each other in the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Special prayers have been performed in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh for the victory of the Indian team in this match to be played on Thursday. Along with this, cricket fans also played Holi with the pictures of the players in their hands.

Cricket fans gathered at the Daraganj temple in Prayagraj carrying pictures of the players and performing religious rituals to pray for India’s victory. A cricket fan said, “Today is the India-England semi-final match. It is a big match and on the occasion of Holi, we have come to the feet of Lord Shankar. We have offered prayers for India’s victory. Mahamrityunjaya has been recited.”

He said, ‘We have prayed that Lord Shankar makes Team India victorious. It is expected that they will enter the field with new energy and defeat England badly.” Another fan said that the purpose of the puja is that today our country’s team should win the semi-final match. We have prayed that by winning not only the semi-final but also the final match, Team India should hoist the flag in the whole world. In the same spirit, we have played Holi with the players by taking their pictures in the temple.

Let us tell you that the second semi-final match of T20 World Cup 2026 will be played between India and England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from 7 pm on Thursday. Both the teams will play their best cricket to make it to the finals.

Both India and England have had excellent performances in the tournament so far. The Indian team lost its only match against South Africa in the Super-8, while England suffered its only defeat against West Indies in the group stage.

This is the third consecutive time in the history of T20 World Cup, when India and England are facing each other in the semi-finals. England won the 2022 World Cup semi-finals, while the Indian team won in 2024. On both the previous occasions, the team that won the semi-finals had won the title.

So far 29 T20 matches have been played between India and England. The Indian team has been victorious 17 times and England 12 times. The statistics are in favor of Team India.
