According to the Daily Mailthe Beckhams have now distanced themselves from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

OK! Magazine reported that the Beckhams have not been seen with the Sussexes since their move to the U.S. in 2020, despite having previously attended the Sussexes’ royal wedding in 2018 and maintaining close ties with the British royal family. One reason cited is that both Victoria, 50, and her husband David, 49, prioritize family and were unsettled by the public fallout between the Sussexes and the royal family.

“Both David and Victoria put great importance on family and would never, ever turn on their relations the way that Harry and Meghan did,” a source told Daily Mail writer Richard Eden. “The truth is that Victoria never really liked Meghan much. She was friendly and welcoming to her but is not bothered about staying in touch.”

Rumors of a falling out between the Beckhams and the Sussexes have circulated for some time. According to OK! MagazineBritish writer Tom Bower claimed in his book The House of Beckham that Meghan, 43, was “put on airs” around Victoria because she believed they had “little in common.”

“In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame,” Bower explained. “As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.”

The alleged rift has also been reportedly linked to rumors that Victoria leaked stories about the Beckhams’ generosity toward the Sussexes to the press, which made David “furious,” according to Tatler magazine.

These acts of generosity include an instance when Meghan returned to Los Angeles to find paparazzi outside her mother’s home. The Beckhams reportedly offered her the use of their six-bedroom, Italian-style villa in the city, where their staff waited on her.

Additionally, after Meghan moved into Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, Victoria—whose fashion brand was expanding into beauty—provided her with advice on makeup and arranged for her staff to help with facials and hairdressing, all free of charge.

These gestures highlight the close bond the two couples once shared before the alleged rift surfaced. Despite that, a source noted that David and Victoria, who remain close to the royal family, have made no effort to repair their strained relationship with Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan.
