SpiceJet's flying high, huge jump in shares

New Delhi : The stocks of aviation sector company SpiceJet are seen touching the sky on Tuesday. The stocks of this company have increased by 10 percent. Its stock prices have reached a high of Rs 63. SpiceJet has said in its regulatory filing that it will add 10 more aircraft to its fleet by next month, due to which the number of flights of the company can be increased.

In the regulatory filing on the stock exchanges, SpiceJet has said that this aviation company is going to increase the number of its flights. It is going to add 10 new aircraft to its fleet by the end of November 2024, which is increasing the growth of the company. It is being told that out of 10 aircraft, 7 will be taken on lease, while 3 aircraft are going to be grounded, which are going to be included in service.

36 planes stopped

SpiceJet said in a press conference on Monday that 7 of these aircraft will be taken on lease, while three grounded aircraft are being re-inducted into the fleet. According to 'live aircraft fleet tracking' website PlaneSpotter.net, the Gurugram-headquartered airline has only 19 aircraft operational, while as of October 8, it had 36 aircraft grounded. Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet, said, “This additional aircraft i.e. 10 aircraft is important as we look to meet the growing demand for air travel while also strengthening our operational capabilities.”

Raised so much money from QIP

This announcement comes after SpiceJet raised Rs 3,000 crore of fresh capital through Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) last month. According to the information, it has been learned that at present SpiceJet has received funding of Rs 736 crore. After receiving this funding, the financial condition of this airline can improve and the growth of the airline can also increase rapidly. The company has said that the funds raised can help in preventing the grounding of SpiceJet's existing aircraft. With this fund, new aircraft can be purchased and investment can be made in technology.
