Splitsvilla 5 fame Nitin Chauhaan passes away at age 35- The Week

Television actor Nitin Chauhaan, who was featured in MTV’s Splitsvilla 5 allegedly died by suicide on Thursday. He was 35 years old.

Chauhaan was born on November 11, 1988 in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He first shot to fame when he won the reality show Dadagiri 2. He went on to participate in the reality romance show Splitsvilla 5, where he finished as second runner-up.

He also worked on educational TV series Zindagi Dot Comdid a recurring character in Friends: Conditions Applyand even made an appearance in the true crime series Crime Patrol. His last on-screen appearance was as ‘Jimmy’ in comedy-drama series My dear friend, back in 2022.

Condoling his demise, his friends and former co-stars, Vibhuti Thakur and Sudeep Sahir, shared their memories through their Instagram handles. Sahir put up a photo of Chauhaan on his Instagram, and added, “Rest in peace buddy”

Thakur shared a black-and-white picture of herself and Nitin on her Instagram story. “Rest in peace my dear…really shocked and sad…wish you had the strength to face all the troubles…wish you were mentally strong as you were physically,” she wrote, leading fans to believe Chauhaan may have died by suicide.

According to reports, Nitin’s father has left to Mumbai to claim his son’s body.
