Friends, cricket in India is no less than a festival, but getting selected in Indian cricket is not an easy task, there is huge competition in India, a player has to go through many stages to join the team, including the Under-19 World Cup, but many great players of India either could not play in this tournament or were never selected – yet they achieved tremendous success at the highest level. Despite being eligible for the 1988 Youth World Cup, Sachin made his international debut at the age of 16 without playing in the Under-19 World Cup.

He failed to make the 1998 Under-19 World Cup squad, but later became one of India’s most successful captains.

Dravid did not participate in the 1988 Under-19 World Cup, yet he became India’s famous “Wall”.
Anil Kumble
One of India’s highest wicket-takers, Kumble never played an Under-19 World Cup.

Despite being eligible for both the 1998 and 2000 editions, Dhoni was not selected. Later he led India to win all three ICC trophies.
Ravichandran Ashwin
Despite being eligible for the 2004 and 2006 Under-19 World Cups, Ashwin never played in the tournament but became one of India’s top bowlers.
Jasprit Bumrah
Not selected for the 2010 and 2012 Under-19 World Cups, Bumrah is now one of India’s most dangerous fast bowlers.
hardik pandya
Like Bumrah, Pandya also missed the Under-19 World Cup but later became an important all-rounder for India.
