SP's huge demonstration, raised the alarm for change against the government

Deoria. Under the leadership of SP District President Vyas Yadav, a huge protest was organized in support of farmers in Deoria. The demonstration started from the courtyard of Shaheed Ramchandra Vidyarthi Museum and proceeded till the Collectorate with deafening anti-government slogans. A large number of party leaders, workers and farmers participated in the occasion. After the demonstration, a protest was held and a meeting was organized in the Collectorate premises.

Addressing the protest meeting, District President Vyas Yadav said that the BJP government is doing injustice to the farmers. He alleged that the administration, at the behest of the BJP government, is trying to snatch away the lands of farmers in the name of land acquisition. He said that farmers, who should be busy taking care of their crops in the fields at this time, have been forced to take to the streets to save their lands. Yadav further said that National President Akhilesh Yadav has taken cognizance against this injustice and Samajwadi Party is ready to fight for the rights of farmers at every level.

Taking aim at BJP, Vyas Yadav said that the party which calls itself nationalist is insulting the memorial site of martyr Ramchandra Vidyarthi ji. Along with this, the government which gives the slogan of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao has stopped the allotment of women's hostel in Sant Vinova PG College, Deoria. Yadav also said that the BJP government is planning to end the existence of Babu Mohan Singh Hospital to deprive the residents of the district from the facilities of the district hospital. Apart from this, farmers are being forced to stop construction of Pipa bridge in Mahal Manjhariya due to which they are not able to reach their fields.

During the protest, Salempur MP Ramashankar Rajbhar said that the rule of law and order has completely ended in Uttar Pradesh and due to the policies of Yogi Adityanath government, farmers, youth and laborers are being harassed. He said that the PDA (Progressive Democratic Alliance) has completely mobilized against the BJP and is committed to uproot the feudal power of the BJP.

Samajwadi Party national secretary and former MLA Subhash Chandra Srivastava said that the BJP government is planning to hand over the lands of farmers to private companies. He alleged that BJP has handed over the power of the country into the hands of industrialists, who are exploiting the farmers.

Prominent speakers at the protest included former MLA Swaminath Yadav, JP Jaiswal, Ajay Pratap Singh, Manbodh Prasad, Anugrah Narayan Singh, Vijay Pratap Yadav, Manish Singh, and many other senior leaders. Speakers in the meeting strongly opposed the anti-people policies of the BJP government and expressed their commitment to protect the rights of farmers.

Hundreds of workers and supporters of Samajwadi Party were present in the program. At the end of the program, a 15-point demand letter addressed to His Excellency the Governor was handed over to ADM (Finance) Deoria. The protest meeting was conducted by District General Secretary Manzoor Hasan. With this demonstration, Samajwadi Party has sounded the trumpet of change in Deoria and has started a new struggle for the rights of farmers.
