Spying through CCTV: Toll manager was making private video of couples on the expressway, this is how it was revealed

Uttar Pradesh A serious and shocking incident has come to light for the people traveling on the expressway. An employee of Anti Traffic Management System (ATMS) deployed on Purvanchal Expressway misused CCTV cameras to record private videos of couples and later extorted huge amount of money by blackmailing them. The incident that happened with the newly married couple has raised big questions on the security and privacy of the entire system. The matter came to light when the victims sent a written complaint to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Sultanpur administration and expressway officials and revealed the entire incident.

Recording under the cover of cameras and then blackmailing

According to the complaint, the newly married couple had stopped in their car for some time before the toll plaza. Meanwhile, the assistant manager of ATMS recorded his personal activities through CCTV cameras. After this he reached the spot, showed the video and extorted Rs 32 thousand by threatening him. Even after paying this amount, the accused made the video viral on social media.

Many people became victims

This couple was not the first victim of the accused. About five to six people said in their written complaint that the employee used to monitor the cameras for a long time and after seeing any objectionable act, he would immediately capture the footage and start blackmailing. The victims have also submitted evidence of their claims to the authorities.

Women and girls were also targeted

A shocking fact has emerged in the preliminary investigation. The accused also recorded videos of many women and girls from three villages around the toll plaza and tried to extort money by threatening them. This entire matter is said to be related to Haliyapur toll plaza of Purvanchal Expressway.

High-resolution cameras installed every 2 kilometers

Purvanchal Expressway is 341 kilometers long and high-resolution cameras have been installed every two kilometers on the entire route. All these are controlled from the control room of Haliyapur toll plaza. By misusing the power of these cameras, the accused diverted the surveillance system in the wrong direction. After all the complaints came to light, the concerned employee has been terminated with immediate effect. The investigation of the case is ongoing and further action is being demanded on behalf of the victims.
