SRH vs CSK: Hyderabad defeated Chennai at home, Abhishek played a stormy innings.

The 27th match of IPL 2026 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Batting first, Hyderabad scored 194 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. North Chennai had a very poor start in chasing the target. The team had suffered three major setbacks at the score of 66 runs. Even in the middle order, no batsman could play any special innings. Praful Hinge bowled brilliantly in the last over and gave Hyderabad victory by 10 runs.

 

Chennai’s batting: Chennai did not have a good start compared to Hyderabad. While Hyderabad got the first blow on 75 runs, three wickets of Chennai had fallen on the score of 66 runs. The first blow in the form of Sanju Samson on the score of 15 runs. He contributed only 7 runs in 3 balls. Ayush Mhatre (30 runs on 13 balls) was out on 66 and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (19 runs on 13 balls) was also out on the score of 66. Chennai got the fourth blow in the form of Sarfaraz Khan on the score of 112 runs. Sarfaraz played an inning of 25 runs in 19 balls with the help of 3 fours. When Chennai’s score was 113, Dewald Brevis also got out at zero.

 

Sixth wicket fell at 148. Matthew Short contributed 34 runs in 30 balls. On the score of 154, the eighth wicket fell in the form of Shivam Dubey (21 runs on 16 balls). Jamie Overton also had to return to the pavilion on the score of 182. He could play only an inning of 16 runs in 15 balls.

 

Hyderabad bowling: Ishan Malinga bowled brilliantly. Took 3 important wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs. Shivang bowled 3 overs. One success by giving 18 runs. Shakib took one wicket for 32 runs in 4 overs. Nitish Reddy gave 31 runs in 4 overs and dismissed two batsmen. Prafulla Hinge’s first three overs proved to be very expensive, but he bowled brilliantly in the last over. Played an important role in achieving a breakthrough and defeating Chennai by 10 runs.

Hyderabad: Abhishek gave a good start, later the team faltered

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the toss and decided to bowl first. Opener Abhishek Sharma gave a strong start to the team. He put CSK in trouble by scoring a half-century in 15 balls. However, fast bowler Mukesh Chaudhary brought Chennai back into the game by taking two consecutive wickets on the last two balls of the powerplay. Mukesh Chaudhary gave the first blow in the form of Travis Head and the second blow to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the form of Ishan Kishan.

 

Hyderabad’s score in 5.4 overs was 75 runs without any wicket. But 2 wickets had fallen on the next two balls. Chennai Super Kings fast bowlers Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj also bowled well. Thanks to the excellent bowling, Hyderabad’s innings, which started towards the storm, was stopped at 194 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

After two setbacks at 75 runs, Chennai’s third wicket fell at the score of 93. Abhishek Sharma played a stormy inning of 59 runs in 22 balls. Sharma hit 4 sixes and six fours in his innings. After his dismissal, only Heinrich Klaasen played an inning of 59 runs in 39 balls. All the other batsmen could not do anything special. Aniket Verma’s wicket fell on the score of 112. Aniket could score only 2 runs. Travid Head contributed 23 runs in 20 balls, Ishan Kishan 0, Nitish Reddy 12, Salil Arora 13, Liam Livingstone 1 and Shivang Kumar contributed 12 runs.

 

Chennai bowling: Overton took three wickets for 37 runs in 4 overs. Anshul Kamboj gave 22 runs and took 3 successes. Mukesh Chaudhary gave two early wickets to Chennai by giving 21 runs in 2 overs. Matthew Short bowled 3 overs and Noor Ahmed bowled 4 overs, but they did not get any success. Gurjapneet Singh took one wicket for 34 in 4 overs. Hyderabad could add only 40 runs in the last five overs. Otherwise his score would have been around 220 runs.
