Colombo: Sri Lanka's leftist leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake won the presidential election on Sunday. On Monday, i.e. today, Anura will take oath as the ninth President of Sri Lanka. After the victory, Dissanayake said that this achievement is not of one person, but is the result of the efforts of thousands of people.

Congratulatory messages are pouring in from many countries for Anura Kumara Dissanayake's victory. A congratulatory message from India also reached the newly elected President of the neighbouring country. Prime Minister Modi congratulated him.
