This means that now eligible travelers will not need to get a separate visa, but it will be mandatory to take online ETA before travelling.

What are the new rules of validity and entry?

  • According to the new arrangement, travelers will be allowed to stay in Sri Lanka for 30 days.
  • Tourists can enter Sri Lanka twice through this ETA.
  • Its validity will be counted from the date of first entry.
  • However, if a traveler wants to stay for more than 30 days, he can apply to extend the visa by paying extra fees.
  • However, citizens of Maldives will get 90 days tourist visa under this facility.
