Sri Lanka jumps to third after victory over New Zealand

Sri Lanka’s 63-run victory over New Zealand saw them climb to the third spot on the World Test Championship (WTC) points table with 48 points and 50.00 PCT

On the other hand, New Zealand dropped to the fourth position with 36 points and a PCT of 42.86.

Both the sides are set to again lock horns in second and final match of the Test series where the Black Caps would be desperate for a victory. The Test match is scheduled to also be played in Galle and will commence from September 26.

After this series, the Lankan Lions are set to play another 2-match Test series, but this time against South Africa. The series is set to commence from November 27 and is expected to conclude on December 9.

On the other hand, New Zealand have a packed Test season coming as they are scheduled to play 3-match Test series against both India and England. The Test series against India is set to begin from October 16 and is expected to conclude on November 5 while the Test series against England is set to begin from November 28 and is expected to conclude on December 18.
