Sribhoomi’s teacher Sangeeta Nath Bardhan did not stop her teaching work even in the fourth stage of cancer.
Shribhoomi : Despite a long struggle with a deadly disease like cancer, Harijan L.P., resident of number 1155 Fanai-Bagan, located in Ramakrishnanagar area of Sribhoomi district of Assam, did not step back from her duty even for a moment. According to family sources, he has been undergoing treatment for the last three years. Due to prolonged treatment, almost the entire savings of the family have been exhausted. Had to take a loan from the bank to meet the medical expenses. At present, it has become extremely difficult for the family to bear the huge medical expenses along with the loan installment of around Rs 95 thousand every month. Recently, after this matter came to light through news media and social media, popular MLA of Ramakrishnanagar area Vijay Malakar reached the teacher’s residence and inquired about her health and provided financial assistance.
Apart from this, he also discussed this issue with Assam government ministers Kaushik Rai and Krishnendu Pal. Both of them have personally assured to provide financial assistance for better treatment of the teacher. It is reported that this matter has also been brought to the notice of the popular Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Vishwa Sharma. Assurance has also been given of possible assistance from the government level. However, there is still a great economic need for better and advanced treatments. In such a situation, wishing the speedy recovery of teacher Sangeeta Nath Bardhan, her family, colleagues and well-wishers have appealed for humanitarian cooperation from people from all sections of the society. All sensitive people have been called upon to come forward to stand together in the life struggle of a dedicated teacher and extend a helping hand as per their capacity.
