Got a big honor in France, SS Rajamouli got emotional; Said- ‘I will not forget this for the rest of my life’
Acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli received a rare international honor as his three landmark films ‘Eega’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Baahubali’ were screened at the prestigious Cinémathèque Française in Paris.
As a mark of respect, the Cinémathèque Française also dedicated a permanent seat in the name of SS Rajamouli. On receiving this special honour, Rajamouli expressed his happiness and gratitude through social media. He said that this honor is a matter of great pride for him and he will cherish it with him throughout his life.

The director wrote in the caption of this post, ‘It is an honor for me to be in Paris and to have my films screened. But I got a pleasant surprise that I never expected. It is a feeling that I cannot fully express in words. To have a permanent place in one of the world’s most famous film institutes, named after the great Henri Langlois, is something I will always remember.’
He further wrote, ‘The presence of famous French filmmaker Costa-Gavras made this celebration even more memorable. He attended the screening with his wife. Thanking the filmmaker, Rajamouli further said, ‘I thank the great Costa-Gavras and the entire Cinémathèque Française family from the bottom of my heart for this honor and for embracing Indian cinema with such love and warmth.’

Earlier this week, SS Rajamouli showed the first glimpse of his upcoming film ‘Varanasi’ at the Annecy Animation Festival. There is already tremendous excitement among the audience about this film starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Last year, while announcing the title of the film, Rajamouli also shared the first glimpse of Mahesh Babu’s character, in which he was seen riding a bull with a trident in his hand. This film will be released in theaters on April 7, 2027.
