SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2026 Dates Released, 18–19 January
SSC has announced the dates for CGL Tier 2 exam 2026. This examination will be held on January 18 and 19, in which about 1.39 lakh candidates will appear. This stage with clear exam pattern and distribution of marks will play an important role in the selection for Group B and C posts.
SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2026: Staff Selection Commission has released the schedule for Tier 2 phase of Combined Graduate Level Examination. This examination will be conducted on 18 and 19 January 2026 at various examination centers across the country. 1,39,395 candidates declared successful in Tier 1 will appear in it. The Commission wants to fill 14,582 vacancies of Group B and Group C through this examination. According to the fixed pattern, questions related to Mathematics, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, Statistics and Finance will be asked in the examination, from which the final merit will be decided.
Tier 2 exam will be held on 18–19 January
According to the schedule released by SSC, Tier 2 exam will be conducted in two days. On January 18, 2026, there will be an examination for Section 1 and 2 of Paper 1, Section 3 related to Computer Knowledge and Statistics i.e. Paper 2.
Section 4 of Paper 1 will be conducted on January 19, 2026, which includes Data Entry Speed Test i.e. DEST. This examination is of qualifying nature, but it is necessary to pass it.
How many candidates will be included
The Commission has clarified that a total of 1,39,395 candidates have been declared successful in the SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 exam, who have been shortlisted for Tier 2.
However, the results of 49 candidates are currently withheld due to various legal reasons, while the results of five candidates have not been processed as they have been found to be banned from SSC examinations.
SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern
There are total three papers in SSC CGL Tier 2 exam. Paper 1 is compulsory for all candidates. This includes Mathematical Ability, English Language, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.
Section 1 of Paper 1 consists of 60 questions of Mathematics for 180 marks. In Section 2, a total of 70 questions are asked from English and General Awareness for 210 marks. Section 3 consists of 20 marks of Computer Knowledge and Data Entry Task.
Paper 2 is for Statistics, which has 100 questions for 200 marks. Whereas Paper 3 is based on Finance and Economics, which is necessary for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer.
For how many posts is recruitment taking place?
A total of 14,582 vacancies of Group B and Group C will be filled through SSC CGL 2025 exam. Candidates successful in Tier 2 will be appointed on the basis of further document verification and final merit.
