Stanley Tucci Just Shared the Coziest Breakfast Sandwich

  • Stanley Tucci whipped up a festive breakfast toast with goat cheese and pesto.
  • This breakfast also includes some scrambled egg for a bit of protein.
  • Any leftover pesto can become a quick dinner addition later in the week.

Preparing for the holidays is a lot of work. There are gifts to wrap, homes to decorate and holiday dinners to cook, not to mention the important responsibility of creating holiday magic for any little ones in your house. All that activity can make a person pretty hungry. Just ask Stanley Tucci, who recently popped onto Instagram to share his latest holiday meal creation with his followers.

“Is it just me, or is everyone else extraordinarily hungry at this time of year?” Tucci asked in his caption. “I can’t stop eating. Maybe it’s in preparation for Christmas Day.”

We like where the The Devil Wears Prada 2 star’s head is at. After all, the holidays are a seasonnot just a single day, so why not eat good food all throughout this festive time of year?

Tucci shares a “very Christmas-y-looking” breakfast in the Instagram reel: an open-faced toast creation topped with some seriously delicious-sounding goodies. “This is my breakfast,” he says while showing his plate to the camera. “It’s toast with scrambled eggs and ham and goat cheese, fresh tomato and homemade pesto. I’m really hungry, and now I’m gonna eat it. Happy holidays.”

The Tucci in Italy host is always sharing delicious meals with his followers, from tuna in a savory tomato sauce with cannellini beans to cheesy potato croquettes, so when something is yummy enough for him to share, we take notice. This savory breakfast toast sounds like a perfect meal for lots of protein and just enough carbohydrates to give us the energy needed to get through a day of holiday shopping or Christmas baking.

What’s more, eggs offer their fair share of health benefits—aside from also being a classic way to add protein to your breakfast. Tomatoes also offer some beneficial vitamins and nutrients, so there are plenty of ingredients in this breakfast dish that are worth incorporating into your diet.

We also love Tucci’s idea of making homemade pesto. If you’ve got some extra greens in your garden or your refrigerator, we suggest trying our Classic Basil Pesto or Spinach-Walnut Pesto to take your breakfast toast to the next level.

And, since you’ll have plenty of pesto left over, consider using it for an easy pasta dinner one night during the busy holiday season. (Your over-scheduled self will thank you later.)
