2024 Upcoming Festival Date: Festivals have special significance in Hinduism. Even though the way of celebrating festivals in different regions of India is different, but here people celebrate each festival with great devotion, enthusiasm and happiness, following all the customs with full devotion. Many important festivals of this year will be celebrated in the coming months. The series of festivals will start from the beginning of the month of October. The festivals will begin with Sharadiya Navratri, after which many big festivals like Karva Chauth, Dussehra, Diwali, Bhai Dooj and Ahoi Ashtami will be seen. After Pitru Paksha, the work of decorating houses and markets like a bride will begin. So let's know about the date and auspicious time of major festivals.

karva chauth

In Sanatan Dharma, Karva Chauth is the most popular and important festival of married women. On this day, married women keep a Nirjala fast for the safety of their husbands and pray for their long life. According to the Hindu calendar, Karva Chauth is celebrated every year on the Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. In the year 2024, Karva Chauth fast will be observed on 20 October. According to the Panchang, Chaturthi Tithi will start at 06:45 am on October 20 and will end at 4:15 am before sunrise on October 21.

Auspicious time of Karva Chauth: According to the Hindu calendar, the auspicious time for Karva Chauth Puja will be from 5:45 pm to 7:55 pm. During this time, all married women can prepare for the puja and take advantage of listening to the story and performing the puja. However, the time of moonrise is 7:54 pm.

Ahoi Ashtami

Ahoi Ashtami, a fast observed for the progress and well-being of children, has special significance in Hinduism. On this day, women worship Goddess Ahoi and pray for the safety of their children. Some women observe this fast by looking at the stars, while others do it by offering prayers to the moon. According to the Panchang, the fast of Ahoi Ashtami will be observed on Thursday, October 24.

Auspicious time of Ahoi Ashtami fast: According to the Hindu calendar, there are two ways of offering arghya on Ahoi Ashtami. Women who worship by looking at the stars on Ahoi Ashtami will be able to offer arghya to the stars at 6:06 pm. According to the calendar, moonrise will be at 11:54 pm. Women who complete the fast by offering arghya to the moon may have to wait for a long time.

dhanteras

Diwali is the main festival of Hinduism, which people eagerly wait for. Diwali starts with Dhanteras. On this day, Goddess Lakshmi and God Kuber are worshiped. Along with this, Dhanvantari, the god of health, is also worshiped on this day. It is believed that by worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Kuber with rituals on this day, one can get the blessing of wealth. Dhanteras is celebrated on the Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This year i.e. in 2024, Dhanteras will be celebrated on 29 October. On this day, especially gold, silver, bronze and steel metal items are purchased.

Auspicious time of Dhanteras: According to the Hindu calendar, the Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month will begin on October 29 at 10:31 am. It will end on October 30 at 1:15 pm. The auspicious time for worship will be from 6:30 pm to 8:12 pm on October 29.

Diwali

Diwali is considered the biggest festival of Hinduism. This festival is also called the festival of lights, prosperity and happiness. On this day, Goddess Lakshmi and Gauri's son Ganesha are worshipped in every house. On the day of Diwali, people illuminate their homes and markets with diyas and candles, exchange gifts and enjoy delicious traditional food. According to the Hindu calendar, Diwali is celebrated every year on Amavasya, the fifth day of Kartik month. This year in 2024, Deepotsav will be celebrated on November 1, Friday.

Auspicious time for Diwali puja: According to the Hindu calendar, Kartik Amavasya Tithi will start on October 31, 2024 at 3:52 pm and will end on the next day i.e. on November 1 at 6:16 pm. The time of Laxmi Puja on this day will be from 5:36 pm to 6:16 pm i.e. 1 hour 56 minutes.

govardhan puja

Govardhan Puja is performed on the next day of Diwali. On this day, Lord Krishna and Govardhan are worshipped. This festival is celebrated on the day of Pratipada of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. On this day, Shri Krishna and Govardhan mountain are made from cow dung in homes. At many places, Annakoot i.e. 56 offerings are made to Shri Krishna. This year Govardhan Puja will be performed on 2 November. This puja is celebrated with great pomp in Barsana and Vrindavan.

Auspicious time of Govardhan Puja: According to the Hindu calendar, Govardhan Puja will be performed on Saturday, November 2. This Puja Kaal Muhurta can be performed from 6:11 am to 8:33 am. Apart from this, Puja can also be performed in the evening Muhurta from 3:22 pm to 5:35 pm.

Bhai Dooj

Bhai Dooj, a symbol of brother-sister love, is celebrated after Govardhan Puja. On this day, the brother promises to protect his sister and the sister wishes for her brother's long life. This festival is celebrated every year on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This festival is also known as Yam Dwitiya or Bhatri Dwitiya. According to the Hindu calendar, this year this festival will be celebrated on Sunday, 3 November.

Auspicious time of Bhai Dooj: The auspicious time of Bhai Dooj will be from 1:10 pm to 3:21 pm. On this day, brothers can go to their sister's house at the auspicious time and get the tika done.

chhath puja

Chhath Puja is performed after Diwali. This is a very difficult fast, which lasts for four days. Chhath Puja is basically performed in Bihar and Purvanchal. This year Chhath Puja will start from November 5 and will end with the distribution of Prasad on November 8. During this festival, difficult rules have to be followed which not everyone can follow.

Auspicious time of Chhath Puja: According to the Hindu calendar, Chhath Puja begins with Kartik Shukla Shashthi Tithi. Shashthi Tithi will begin at 12:41 am on November 7 and end at 12:35 am on November 8.
