New Delhi. From the beginning of the new financial year on April 1, many important changes are going to take place related to the wallet and banking habits of the common man. The government has issued new rules to make digital transactions safer and easier in the Indian Railways and banking sector. Now everyone will not need to carry a debit card to withdraw money from ATM. From April, most of the banks in the country will increase the UPI-ATM service in a big way. A QR code will appear on the ATM screen. You will be able to easily withdraw money directly by scanning it from any UPI app on your phone.

Because of this, fraud incidents like ‘card cloning’ and ‘skimming’ will end. In the initial phase, with its help you can withdraw Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 at a time. Along with this, Indian Railways has also changed the rules for the convenience of passengers and to make the ticket refund process more transparent. The refund amount on cancellation of tickets booked online (IRCTC) will now be refunded sooner than before. It aims to complete the refund process within 48 hours.

Now you will be able to cancel the tickets taken from the station counter online also, however, to get the cash for refund, you will have to go to the counter as per the time limit. If the train is late by more than 3 hours or the AC is broken, the rules for filing TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) have been made more stringent so that only genuine passengers get the refund and frauds are stopped. Now UPI payments will be compulsorily promoted at the ticket windows at railway stations also. QR codes will be installed at the ticket counters so that passengers can get rid of the problem of ‘change’ and do not have to face long queues.

Banking experts say that these changes will greatly strengthen Digital India. However, travelers and customers are advised not to share their UPI PIN with anyone and use only official payment apps.
