Startups are continuously getting flight… 19,042 startups in UP, sharp jump in January

Lucknow, Read: The position of UP is continuously getting stronger under the Startup India scheme of the Central Government. In December 2025, the number of recognized startups in the state was 18,568, which has now increased to 19,042. 474 new startups have been recognized during this period. These figures indicate that Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major hub of startup activities even at the national level.

The number of recognized startups under the Start in UP initiative of the state government has increased to 3011. 106 new startups have been recognized in January. This growth reflects the growing entrepreneurial confidence and positive business environment in the state. The startup ecosystem is expanding rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Due to favorable policy environment, better law and order and active initiatives of the government, entrepreneurship has gained new momentum in the state. Yogi government has a clear thinking that the youth of the state should not become job seekers but job providers and this thinking now seems to be coming true on the ground.

IT expert Pradeep Yadav says that improvements in law and order, emphasis on ease of doing business and expansion of digital governance have had a direct impact on the startup sector. Now startups are not limited to big cities only, but new enterprises are emerging from small towns and districts as well. This is promoting employment generation at the local level and strengthening the regional economy.
