After assuring that the government will take a positive decision regarding the cancellation of unfair e-challans, the transporters of the state have decided to call off the statewide strike. It was informed that a joint meeting of the police and transport department will be organized soon to resolve the various demands and problems of the transporters. It has also been clarified that the government is sympathetically considering their demands. In this background, the transporters’ associations have decided to suspend the agitation, said the Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said. He also mentioned that a suitable decision will be taken soon after discussing the related issues.
Minister Sarnaik said that the statewide transporters’ strike was discussed with the Chief Minister of the state, Devendra Fadnavis. Also, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde interacted with the members of the Maharashtra Transport Action Committee, the apex committee of transporters’ associations, through the television system.

At this time, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde appealed to withdraw the strike saying that the government is sympathetically considering the demands of the transporters. Responding positively to their call, the transport unions decided to call off the statewide strike.

Minister Sarnaik also explained that the government is sensitive to the various demands of the transporters and a positive decision will be taken regarding the e-challans issued in an unfair manner. He also said that a joint meeting of transport department, police administration and representatives of transporter associations will be held soon to discuss related issues.
