In fact Commodore was an iconic name in the world of computing and electronics in the 1980s. The brand was originally credited with starting the personal computer revolution. However, after a few years due to financial instability, the company had to face many problems and its production was completely stopped. In 2015, the company also licensed its name for some failed Android phones. After all this, now the company has made a strong comeback and launched the Commodore Callback 8020 smartphone. The standard model of the Commodore Callback 8020 has been priced at $499, which is around Rs 47,100. This variant is available for purchase in beige, white and silver color options. The company has also launched a Translucent Blue variant of this smartphone. Which is priced at $549.99 i.e. around Rs 52,000. Also, the limited-edition ‘Founders Edition’ model with a gold finish has been priced at $640, which is around Rs 60,500. The company says that the pre-order of the smartphone will start from June 30. The smartphone will be available for purchase by the end of this year.

According to the company, their new smartphone has been designed with digital well-being in mind. The company has launched this new device as a ‘digital detox’ flip-style phone. The device encourages reducing unnecessary screen time and social media use. For this the handset blocks traditional web browsers and social media apps. The device supports important services like WhatsApp, Signal, Spotify, QR code tools, navigation apps and open-source messaging app OpenBubble.
Sailish operating system is provided in the new smartphone of the company. It has a Linux based operating system. In Callback 8040, the company has given a 1.77 inch cover display. It also has a 3.25 inch touchscreen display. The touchscreen is disabled by default in this phone and can only be used with supported apps. It has a physical keypad.
