However, along with his resignation, Katare also made a scathing attack on senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya through a social media post. He said that decorum of words and behavior is extremely important on the highest democratic platform like the Assembly. The developments related to Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar have hurt many people. Katare said that more restraint, balance and decency is expected in the House from an experienced public representative like Kailash Vijayvargiya. Experience in public life not only means seniority of position but also strengthening the culture of dialogue and democratic values. He said that expressing dissent is the right of democracy, but it is the duty of everyone to maintain the dignity of expression. He expressed hope that in future there will be positive initiatives towards further strengthening the reputation of the House.
Umang Singhar responded
Here, reacting to this entire episode, Umang Singhar said that Congress will continue to raise issues related to the public and will not come under any pressure. He said that the issues of increase in electricity rates, unemployment, tribal land and farmers are prominent on the agenda of the Congress. If MLAs raise these issues in the House, they bring forward the voice of the general public. Singhar said that he too had kept the questions related to the public prominent during the discussion on the Governor’s address. He says that the role of the opposition in democracy is to make the government accountable and Congress will continue to fulfill this responsibility.
