Stock Market Christmas Holiday: Due to Christmas holiday, the stock market is closed today i.e. on 25th December (Wednesday). There will be no trading in the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) due to the holiday. Apart from this, Multi Commodity Exchange and NCDEX will also remain closed. Today i.e. Wednesday is the last holiday of 2024 in the market except for the week. Earlier on November 15, the market was closed due to Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday.

Foreign investors sold shares worth 2 thousand 454.21 crores

Infosys, SBI, HDFC Bank and Power Grid dragged the market down. At the same time, ITC, Tata Motors, TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra pulled the Sensex up.

According to NSE data, net sales by foreign investors (FIIs) on December 20 stood at Rs 2,454.21 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 2 thousand 819.25 crore.

On December 24, America's Dow Jones closed at 43 thousand 297 with a rise of 0.91 percent. The S&P 500 index closed at 6 thousand 040 with a gain of 1.10 percent and the Nasdaq closed at 20 thousand 031 with a gain of 1.35 percent.

How was the market condition on Tuesday?

Earlier yesterday i.e. on 24th December, Sensex had closed at 78 thousand 472 with a fall of 67 points. Nifty also fell by 25 points, it closed at 23 thousand 727. At the same time, BSE Smallcap closed at 55 thousand 023 with a gain of 205 points.

Out of 30 Sensex shares, 17 fell and 13 rose. At the same time, out of 50 shares of Nifty, 28 rose and 22 fell. In the NSE sectoral index, the metal sector closed with the biggest decline of 0.83 percent.
