Stock market closed: Rise in stock markets, Sensex stronger by 326 points, know the condition of Nifty

Mumbai. After a big fall in the previous trading day, major indices closed in the green on Friday due to buying at low prices in the domestic stock markets. BSE’s 30-share sensitive index Sensex closed at 74,532.96 points with a gain of 325.72 points (0.44 percent). The Nifty-50 index of the National Stock Exchange also rose by 112.35 points or 0.49 percent to reach 23,114.50 points.

Heavy selling was seen in the market on Thursday and both the indices fell by around 3.25 percent. At one point in the morning trade, the Sensex had risen by 1,079 points, but later its rise remained limited. There was a rise in medium and small companies also today. Nifty Midcap-50 index rose 0.74 percent and Smallcap-100 index rose 0.09 percent. There was good strength in IT, public sector banks, pharma, metals, health and auto sectors.

Indices of banking, private bank, realty and media sectors fell. Among Sensex companies, shares of Tata Steel and Tech Mahindra rose by more than three percent. Shares of Infosys, Trent and Reliance Industries gained between two to three percent. Shares of Titan, NTPC, Sun Pharma, HCL Technologies, Eternal, TCS and UltraTech Cement rose between one and two per cent.

Shares of Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, PowerGrid, Adani Ports, Mahindra & Mahindra, Asian Paints and Hindustan Unilever also remained up. HDFC Bank shares fell almost two and a half percent. BEL declined by more than one percent. Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank also fell.
