Stock market closed: Stock markets continue to rise, after selling in these sectors the market is out

Mumbai. Domestic stock markets witnessed a rise for the fourth consecutive day on Monday, although there was heavy selling in IT sector companies and public sector banks. BSE Sensex rose 521.16 points (0.67 percent) to 78,285.07. The Nifty-50 index of the National Stock Exchange also closed at 24,430.35 points, up 159.50 points or 0.66 percent. The macro market also remained bullish.

Nifty Midcap-50 index gained 0.45 percent and Smallcap-100 index gained 0.75 percent. Auto, metals, realty, consumer durables, oil and gas, chemicals, private banks and pharma sectors witnessed gains. Indices of IT, public bank and media sectors remained in decline. Among Sensex companies, HDFC Bank’s share strengthened by three and a half percent and Mahindra & Mahindra’s share strengthened by two percent.

Shares of BEL, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank rose by one to two percent. Shares of Bharti Airtel, Eternal, Maruti Suzuki, Sun Pharma, Asian Paints, Tata Steel, Titan and L&T also remained in the green. Kotak Mahindra Bank shares fell by nearly four percent. There was a decline of more than one and a half percent in TCS. Shares of Bajaj Finserv, PowerGrid, Adani Ports, HCL Technologies, UltraTech Cement, Infosys, ITC, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra and IndiGo also closed down.
