Impact of weakness in global markets
Most of the major stock markets in Asia and Europe were in a downward trend. Selling was also seen in IT stocks, but the domestic market maintained a positive trend due to strong investor sentiment.

There was excellent shopping in these sectors
Good buying was seen in shares of banking, IT, financial services, auto, realty and oil and gas sectors. On the other hand, shares of pharma, healthcare and metals sectors remained under pressure.
