New Delhi, 23 October (Hindustan Reporter). After facing ups and downs throughout the day, the domestic stock market closed with a decline for the third consecutive day today. Today’s trading also started with weakness. During the day’s trading, with the support of buying, the stock market recovered and entered the green mark, but due to selling pressure after 2 pm, both the Sensex and Nifty indices once again became victims of weakness. After the entire day’s trading, Sensex closed with a fall of 0.17 percent and Nifty with a fall of 0.15 percent.
Today, during the day’s trading, maximum purchases were made in the IT sector. Apart from this, Consumer Durables, FMCG and Tech indices also managed to close strongly. On the other hand, there was maximum selling in shares of pharmaceutical, public sector enterprise and automobile sectors. Apart from this, Energy, Metal, Bank, Oil & Gas and Capital Goods indices also declined and closed in the red. There was continuous buying of small and medium stocks in the broader market today, due to which the BSE midcap index closed with a gain of 0.48 percent. Similarly, the Smallcap index ended today’s trading with a gain of 0.93 percent.
Despite the weakness in the stock market today, the wealth of stock market investors increased by more than Rs 90 thousand crore due to purchases of small and medium shares. The market capitalization of BSE listed companies increased to Rs 445.37 lakh crore (provisional) after today’s trading. Their market capitalization on the last trading day i.e. Tuesday was Rs 444.45 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about Rs 92 thousand crore from today’s business.
Today, there was active trading in 4,031 shares in BSE in the day’s trading. Of these, 2,182 shares closed with gains, while 1,751 shares were in a declining trend and 98 shares closed without any movement. There was active trading in 2,500 shares in NSE today. Of these, 1,461 shares closed in the green after earning profit and 1,039 shares closed in the red after incurring a loss. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 9 shares closed with gains and 21 shares closed with decline. Out of 50 stocks included in Nifty, 20 stocks closed in the green mark and 30 stocks closed in the red mark.
BSE Sensex opened today with a fall of 299.59 points at the level of 79,921.13 points. Due to increased selling pressure in early trade itself, this index fell by 329.04 points to 79,891.68 points. After this fall, buyers took charge, due to which the movement of this index started improving. With the support of continuous buying, the Sensex jumped 754.63 points from the low level and reached 80,646.31 points with a gain of 425.59 points. However, this strength of Sensex could not last long. The index again dipped into the red as selling started around 2 pm. Due to continuous selling, Sensex fell 564.33 points from the upper level and closed at 80,081.98 points with a weakness of 138.74 points.
Like Sensex, NSE’s Nifty started trading today at 24,378.15 points with a weakness of 93.95 points. Due to selling pressure in early trading, the weakness of this index increased further, but after some time the condition of Nifty started improving due to the support of buying. With the support of continuous buying, this index jumped by 226.15 points from the low level and reached the day’s highest level of 24,604.25 points with a gain of 132.15 points. The market continued to be traded with minor fluctuations till 2 pm, but after this the foreign investors started selling aggressively, due to which the index fell once again into the red. After the entire day’s trading, Nifty fell 168.75 points from the upper level and closed at 24,435.50 points, down 36.60 points.
After the day’s buying and selling, among the big stocks of the stock market, Bajaj Finance by 4.56 percent, Tech Mahindra by 2.32 percent, Bajaj Auto by 2.11 percent, Tata Consumer Products by 1.63 percent and TCS by 1.26 percent are in the list of today’s top 5 gainers. joined in.
