Stock Market Today: Business is drenched in positive trends in Asian markets, positive changes in Sensex-Nifty itself.
Mumbai. In line with the positive trend in Asian markets, Sensex and Nifty registered a rise in early trade on Monday. BSE Sensex rose 206.16 points to 74,981.90 in early trade while NSE Nifty rose 42.65 points to 23,604.80.
Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Asian Paints, InterGlobe Aviation, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services and HCL Tech were the biggest gainers. Whereas shares of Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC and Hindustan Unilever declined.
In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were on the rise, while China’s SSE Composite was in the decline. American markets closed with gains on Friday.
The price of international standard Brent crude stood at $ 93.15 per barrel with an increase of 2.23 percent. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers on Friday and sold shares worth Rs 21,105.86 crore. On Friday, Sensex closed with a fall of 1,092.06 points and Nifty with a fall of 359.40 points.
