Stock Market Today: Sensex rose 176 points and Nifty 34 points, strong buying in IT and Titan shares.
Mumbai. Domestic stock markets Sensex and Nifty registered gains in early trading on Tuesday. Investor morale has boosted as crude oil prices returned to pre-war levels amid inflows of foreign capital and easing of tensions in West Asia. BSE Sensex rose 176 points to 78,461.16 in early trade while NSE Nifty rose 34.1 points to 24,464.45. Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Titan, Infosys, Eternal, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech and Tata Consultancy Services were the most profitable.
At the same time, Trent’s shares fell by 9.8 percent. Shares of Larsen & Toubro, Bharat Electronics, ITC and Tata Steel also declined. In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi fell seven percent. Japan’s Nikkei 225, China’s SSE Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are also trading in loss. American markets closed with gains on Monday. The price of international standard Brent crude stood at around $ 72.45 per barrel with an increase of 0.64 percent.
However, it still remains at a favorable level. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers on Monday and bought shares worth Rs 243.03 crore. BSE Sensex closed on Monday with a gain of 521.16 points and NSE Nifty closed with a gain of 159.50 points.
